This update introduces a new file upload widget with many improvements to support your productivity further.

As file uploads are a critical part of the tool, we made the decision to roll out this improvement in stages. Therefore, it is only available for requirements at present.

We will monitor the usage, gather comments and refine this latest change. If feedback is supportive, we intend to enable this for other areas of the tool that allow files to be uploaded.

Update: We are pleased to announce that this same improvement has now been rolled out to test cases.
Scott Sherwoodurn:noticeable:publications:jwmdqUBNF5zM0JvNCdOf2023-03-29T09:05:24.240Z2023-03-29T09:13:55.627ZRecent Improvements to TestLodgeOver the past 6 months, we've been busy working on some significant improvements, but we've still continued with smaller improvements that do make a difference.
Over the past 6 months, we’ve been busy working on some significant improvements. Some have already been released, and some are still in development.

We always listen to feedback from existing users and making refinements to the tool. More often than not, these very useful improvements are small so don’t get a mention.

So to bring everyone up to date, here’s a list of just a few changes that we have made in recent months.

Application improvements

Support for more character sets - We’ve performed a large database upgrade which now means we support an even wider range of character sets.

Knowledge base links more accessible - We’ve made it easier for you and team members to find the help you need, whether from our knowledge base, video tutorials or by contacting us directly.

Application performance - We are always very proud of TestLodge’s uptime. This is achieved by a lot of work that is rarely mentioned. Maintaining the stack and performing upgrades is a continuous effort, and the past few months have been no exception. We have performed various upgrades and improvements that have gone very well, which will only help us continue to improve the speed and performance of the site.

API improvements

New bulk results API endpoint - Our main focus at TestLdoge is manual testing, and this is not changing. However, we have a growing number of companies who wish to store their automated test results with their manual tests. This can now be achieved even easier thanks to a new API endpoint that allows you to send over your results in bulk, as opposed to one at a time.

Issue tracker integrations

We’ve continued to improve and optimize our issue tracker integrations and the following changes have recently been made.

ClickUp

We now have support for accounts that make use of ClickUp custom IDs.

Axosoft

With their changes to authentication, we’ve continued to maintain our integration and we are pleased to say that we now support their latest authentication methods.

Shortcut

Depreciating Shortcut projects - We have updated the integration to remove the ability to set a project ID. Instead, we provide the option for a user to select a Shortcut workflow.

Updated options - You can now select an Epic directly from TestLodge where you can attach a story.

Remember your previous selections - Have TestLodge remember your option selection (such as assigned user, Epic etc.), and set them as defaults for any future stories that are raised within the given test run.

Finally

Our efforts to improve TestLodge are continuous and we’d like to thank everyone who gets in touch with us and takes the time to provide feedback.
Scott Sherwoodurn:noticeable:publications:AkVxd2251weLN8khf5kT2023-01-09T09:22:00Z2023-01-09T09:25:46.526ZNew release: Improved Import for Test Cases and RequirementsMigrate your CSV, TSV, and XLSX files directly to TestLodge using our improved import functionality.
After signing up to use TestLodge, you may want to import some of your existing content, such as test cases that you may have maintained in spreadsheets manually, or maybe you are migrating from other software.

For Google users, migrating content to TestLodge has always been straightforward and available. However, many users cannot access Google spreadsheets due to their company’s policies.

For this reason, we are trialing a new import so you can upload your data straight from CSV, TSV, and XLSX files directly to TestLodge. This new import is available for requirements and test cases.

To get started, select the import option for the requirement document/test suite where you wish to import the data. From there, TestLodge will guide you on how to upload your content.

This new feature is available to all users on our latest plan set. In conjunction with our existing Google import, we hope this new addition will make things easier for you to migrate over to using TestLodge.
Scott Sherwoodurn:noticeable:publications:CGyU5Rtt5daX9TYe3YK32022-08-01T08:18:22.984Z2022-08-01T08:21:35.970ZImprovements to Payment MethodsTestlodge introduces the wallet concept, which safely holds backup payment options when a bank unexpectedly declines your primary method.
It can be so annoying when your bank blocks a regular payment for no good reason. We know banks are security-minded, but when a block happens to you, it can be frustrating!

We set out to help TestLodge users have one less thing to think about, so we have now introduced the wallet concept to help prevent those occasional problems.

Like most online businesses, we offer payment by card to our users and have always worked with the leading payment and subscription companies to make this possible. However, now with the new wallet concept, you have the facility to store a backup payment method in case a problem arises with your Primary way to pay.

The wallet lets you store multiple different payment methods at one time. You can set a primary payment method and, if you prefer, a backup payment method that will help you avoid unexpected breaks in service. This will be useful for anyone who finds their bank often declines transactions for no reason and should want to provide an alternative payment method for when this happens.

In addition to these improvements, we can now accept monthly payments via ACH bank transfers for users in the USA.

To switch over to ACH payments, just log in as an account holder, select 'Payment details' from your account and choose to add a new payment method. This way of paying can also be used as a backup method if your primary is declined.

With this new wallet facility, we have set the groundwork to continue improving payments going forward and offer alternative payment methods.
Jane Orielurn:noticeable:publications:wQmSbCR02dRojBG53Y9v2022-04-21T06:37:00Z2022-03-24T07:41:33.267ZTest Run User Notification ImprovementsWe’ve improved test run assignment notifications. Now users are informed when added to an existing test run, as well as runs newly created.
We have improved our test run assigned-user notifications in our latest minor release.

Now, TestLodge will send notifications each time a user is assigned to an existing test run, not just to newly created ones which has been the case until now.

However, if you prefer not to receive notifications, you can opt out of receiving them via your notification settings.

Sometimes, a user may be assigned to the same test run more than once in an hour. This could happen, for example, if multiple test configurations are involved. Therefore, only one notification will reach their mailbox instead of numerous emails.

Finally, if you assign yourself to a test run, no notifications are sent as before.

These minor updates are popular requests from our users and are already live on the site and ready for use.
Scott Sherwoodurn:noticeable:publications:9AFYMWrhHimy33FaPLQN2022-03-23T09:04:00.372Z2022-03-23T10:07:51.251ZClickUp and Requirement Copying Functionality UpdatesTestLodge releases updates for the ClickUp integration and requirement copying functionality. Both are live on the site and ready for use.
We’ve been working on a couple of small releases during the past month in response to recent feedback. Here we update you on our latest TestLodge improvements.

Improved integration with ClickUp

If ClickUp is one of your TestLodge integrations, this improvement will improve the way you raise issues from your test runs.

When executing your tests and marking a test as failed, you have the option to choose a ClickUp List where you want the issue report to be created. From now, when you have selected a list, you can designate that all future issues created by the given test run will automatically be sent to this same list.

This improvement for options to be remembered will also apply to the ClickUp assigned user and priority. Being able to set these options as defaults is a helpful time-saver because the user only needs to select the ClickUp options once instead of having to do this every time a test fails.

Should the user wish, they can override these options or change them at any time during the test run.

Enhanced copying functionality for requirements

Previously, if you copied a requirement into the same project, connections to any associated test cases were excluded. With this update, all associations will now be maintained for the new copied requirement.

This new arrangement is the same when copying test cases. Requirement association will be maintained when a case is copied into the same project.

These functionality improvements are now live on the site and ready to use.
Jane Orielurn:noticeable:publications:wyGOBAgci0yPbeCzDKnY2022-02-08T08:17:00Z2022-03-23T10:09:30.874ZUpdates to the test execution pageTestLodge releases updates for the ClickUp integration and requirement copying functionality. Both are live on the site and ready for use.
The test execution page is where you probably spend the most time after writing your tests. It’s where you cycle through tests and add the results.

We’ve had some great user feedback about this page, which encouraged us to explore how we could make this part of the tool even better.

We have introduced next/previous arrow buttons so you can toggle forward or back through your tests without having to add a result.

There’s a new column that lets you see at a glance the four tests before and after the one you’re working on.

The content you use most is now nearer to the top, which means less up and down scrolling and potential distraction.

When viewing the ‘individual cases’ tab from within your run, you can now begin testing from any of the tests instead of having to work consecutively.

We hope the added flexibility made possible by introducing these new elements will support the way you execute your tests.

The test execution page improvements are now live and available for use.
Jane Oriel
